El Kompa Roger is a live norteño group founded by Jose Alvarado in Chicago's Little Village. We play the music families grew up with — at the moments they will remember longest.
A norteño band that plays for the family, not the room
El Kompa Roger is an independent norteño group based at 2545 South Central Park Avenue, Chicago, IL 60623. We specialise in amenizar — bringing a celebration to life — at weddings, quinceañeras, baptisms, first communions, birthdays and private events across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
The lineup is built around the accordion and bajo sexto that define música norteña, backed by bass and live vocals. Our sets move between corridos, rancheras and cumbias, and they are always shaped by what the guests in front of us actually respond to.
What sets us apart is the preparation. Before a single note is played we have confirmed your timeline with the venue, rehearsed your vals to the exact length your choreographer planned, and agreed when the volume stays under conversation and when it takes over the room. The performance looks effortless because the planning was not.
We answer calls seven days a week, 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM, and we travel throughout a 30-mile radius — 13 cities across Cook, DuPage, Will, Kane and Lake counties — with travel already included in the quoted price.
